It is the duty of the Church, as we are, that the Church prays for the government-Vice President  Yemi Osinbajo Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, called on Churches for religious tolerance and prayers for those in government to overcome numerous challenges facing the nation. Mr Osinbajo, who made the remark at the inauguration of the Deeper Life Bible Church new Headquarters Auditorium, Gbagada, Lagos, said that governance was a spiritual warfare. “It is the duty of the Church, as we are, that the Church prays for the government; that the Church upholds the hands of those in government, not by complaining but by supporting us with prayers. “Governance is a spiritual warfare, if anyone does not know that, I know. 22 Roman Catholic Priests Murdered In Mexico  22 priests have been killed in Mexico since 2012, when the six-year administration of President Enrique Pena Nieto began. The resent murder was that of 33-year old Father Juan Miguel Garcia, murdered in the west-central Mexican state of Jalisco, the second priest killed within four days in the country. He was performing the sacrament of penance (Confession)  when he was attacked by armed assailants at a parish in Tlajomulco de Zuniga, on the outskirts of Guadalajara, according to a statement from the Mexican Bishops’ Conference. The attack on Friday April 20th, took place immediately after the celebration of Holy Mass. It was the latest in a series of attacks against priests in Mexico. One killed, many injured as masquerades invade church during service in Anambra State At least one person died yesterday while over 22 other persons sustained various degrees of injury when masquerades in their numbers invaded the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The masquerades, who were said to be celebrating a festival known as Uzo Iyi, invaded the worship ground, beating up members and also attempting to whisk away the spiritual director of the centre, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma. Anthony Okoro , the Parish Priest of St Christopher Catholic Church, Oke Odo, Lagos has faulted the planned visit of President Buhari to Lagos state on Thursday, noting that the timing was wrong. “Holy Thursday and Good Friday are special days for Christians to reflect the Paschal mysteries.
