6 Interesting Things You Didn't Know About Billy Graham.

6 Interesting Things You Didn't Know About Billy Graham.. The Rev. Billy Graham, a North Carolina farmer’s son who preached to millions in stadium events he called crusades, becoming a pastor to presidents and the nation’s best-known Christian evangelist for more than 60 years, died on Wednesday at his home in Montreat, N.C. He was 99. His death was confirmed by Jeremy Blume, a spokesman for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He was ordained a minister in 1939, aged 21. Graham's public profile was raised in the United States when he held a two-month ministry in a giant tent in Los Angeles in 1949. His global mission took him to all corners of the world including Nigeria and communist North Korea. An early sermon outside the US took place before 12,000 worshippers in 1954 in Haringay Arena, London. At first ambivalent about the civil rights movement in the US, he became more sympathetic in the 1950s, preaching to racially integrated congregations. Mr. G

''Admit that you have failed''- No Bishop in Nigeria has a Private Jet. Cardinal Okogie tells President Buhari and Kogi State Governor

Former Archbishop of the Catholic Church in Lagos, Olubunmi Cardinal Okogie, has asked President Buhari to admit he has failed Nigerians. In a statement released today February 20th, Okogie said Nigerians are no longer happy with this administration. The truth is: Nigerians are not happy; Nigerians are hungry and angry. They are not happy because their lives and their belongings are not safe. They work so hard while the value of the money they earn cannot make them enjoy basic things of life. Nigerians are unhappy because the economy has been so mismanaged that some cannot pay the school fees of their children. Nigerians are unhappy because they have not got jobs. Nigerians are unhappy because, instead of hope, they are offered propaganda and insults by the president’s men. Nigerians are angry because their loved ones are butchered by herdsmen while the response of government is woeful. The issue at hand is more serious than getting re-elected. It cannot be resolved by way of a

Pope Benedict in critical condition

Pope Benedict in critical condition Former Pope Benedict is suffering from a disease of the nervous system which puts him on a wheelchair regularly. His brother, George Ratzinger, on Thursday said his condition was critical and added that he feared the paralysis could spread to Benedict’s heart. Benedict, a German, who in 2013 became the first Pope in six centuries to resign, said earlier in the month that he was in the last phase of life and on a “pilgrimage toward home”. He is 90 years old. Ratzinger, 94, told the Neue Post that his brother was mentally fit but tired easily. “The greatest fear is that the paralysis could at some point spread to his heart. “Then, it could be over quickly,” he said, adding that he was praying daily for a “good” death for himself and his brother. He disclosed that they spoke every day on the telephone, saying “that is a great gift; in this way, no one is alone”. “I very much hope that I can travel one more time to Rome to celebrat

Pope meets sex abuse victims ‘several times a month’ – Vatican

Pope meets sex abuse victims ‘several times a month’ – Vatican “I can confirm that the Holy Father meets sex abuse victims several times a month, both individually and in groups,’’ Vatican spokesman Grek Burke said in a statement. According to Burke, Pope Francis listens to the victims and tries to help them heal the serious wounds caused by the abuses they suffered. “The meetings take place in the utmost confidentiality to protect the victims’ privacy,’’ he added. Burke spoke after Italy’s Corriere della Sera daily ran an extract of an article due to be published on Saturday by Civilta Cattolica, a Jesuit magazine. The magazine quoted the pope as saying: “On Fridays – sometimes this is public, sometimes not – I usually meet with some victims, their experience is terrible, they are left destroyed.’ Francis made the remarks during a meeting with fellow Jesuits on his trip to Chile in January. The Catholic Church has been dogged for decades by the worldwide scand

United Kingdom declares Christ Embassy Church insolvent.

United Kingdom declares Christ Embassy Church insolvent. The United Kingdom branch of Christ Embassy, owned by popular Nigerian televangelist, Chris Oyakhilome, is broke and has been declared insolvent by the Charity Commission, the agency that regulates charity organisations in the country. The ministry also admitted in its belated 2015 financial Statement (the church’s last annual return, which it published in 2017) that its subsidiary, Christ Embassy Limited, valued with a net asset of more than N1 billion (£2 million) entered into liquidation from November 1, 2016. On its website, the Charity Commission flagged Christ Embassy as “charity insolvent”. According to the commission, a charity is considered as being insolvent when it is “unable to pay its debts.” “In practice there are two separate tests for insolvency and failure of either might be an indication of insolvency: The charity cannot pay its debts as they fall due for payment; The value of its liabilities exceeds

PORN IS THE NEXT GREATEST THREAT TO THE CHURCH AND SOCIETY

PORN IS THE NEXT GREATEST THREAT TO THE CHURCH AND SOCIETY A reporter invited to experience virtual reality pornography with a Samsung Gear VR headset chronicled the lifelike details of the sexual encounter. He noted "after trying out VR porn, I don't think anyone who experiences it will be able to go back to 2D porn. It's that realistic." (Photo: Using VR/Creative Commons/via Pixabay) The New York Times reports, "While virtual-reality pornography may feel like something out of a science fiction movie, it already has a formidable, if underground, presence. According to one porn site, views of VR porn are up 275 percent since it debuted in the summer of 2016. Now the site is averaging about 500,000 views." Ready or not, the new frontier of pornography is here. However, as Josh McDowell asks (and answers) in the all new Conquer Series : "Is the Church ready for this? No, because they are not aware of it." Many pastors are unfamiliar with

Pastor Paul Song UK ALLOWS MUSLIM IMAM TO REMOVE POPULAR CHRISTIAN CHAPLAIN FROM PRISON MINISTRY: MANY PRISONERS WERE HAVING THEIR LIVES TRANSFORMED THROUGH CHRIST After nearly two decades of service, leaders associated with a prison in the United Kingdom removed a well-respected Christian volunteer chaplain from his duties—according to the UK's Christian Concern. The organization reports that Pastor Paul Song "developed strong relationships with the prisoners, the Senior Chaplain and other staff, and many prisoners became Christians and had their lives transformed." The report says trouble started after Imam Mohamed Yusef Ahmed took over as Senior Chaplain in 2015 at Her Majesty's Prison Brixton (HMP Brixton) in South London. "Imam Mohamed's discriminatory agenda was clear from the outset," Song said, according to Christian Concern. "He began scrutinizing the material for each of our courses, commenting that the material was 'too rad

Keys to A Glorious Marriage

Keys to A Glorious Marriage Almost every marriage starts out as a huge celebration. Together with their family and friends, each couple is full of hopes and dreams for their future life together. But the road to a happy marriage is far from easy. And as today’s divorce statistics demonstrate all too well, many couples opt not to complete the journey. It would be easy to blame our high rate of marital failure on things like not spending enough quality time together, allowing bitterness and resentment to build in our hearts and failing to keep communication lines open. There’s no end to books, articles and seminars that tell you how to improve these and many other aspects of your relationship. But while quality time, forgiveness and communication are vitally important to creating a happy marriage, if such things aren’t happening, it’s usually a sign of a much deeper problem. And until this problem is addressed, no amount of external behavior modification will work. To get a h

God's plan for us Christians is for us to marry more than one wife..

God's plan for us Christians is for us to marry more than one wife.. *Rev Mulwa wants Christian leaders to review teachings on monogamous marriages, claiming there is no verse in the Bible supporting it. *Rev Mulwa argues that many women are ending up unmarried and others are single and widows after they fail to get husbands. A pastor who has been on the pulpit for the past 38 years has come out to challenge the widely-held Christian doctrine that men should only marry one wife. Rev Vincent Mulwa of Christ Pilgrim Restoration Centre says Africans bought the world views of European missionaries who brought Christianity into Africa and abandoned polygamy, a practice that was rife even among the people who lived during biblical times. The cleric has even written a book, Christianity at a Crossroads: Between a Rock and a Hard Place , where he argues out his case for polygamy. Rev Mulwa wants Christian leaders to review teachings on monogamous marriages, claiming there is n
